PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA, April 20, 2012: An unusual street-level photo exhibit launched in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, heralding a new and unique approach to location street photography & exhibition:
‘Personalities of the Cambodian Wine Bar’ a street-level photography experience by filmmaker & photographer Jason Rosette
The show featured photos of local working class Cambodians who frequent the wine bar – and was held at the actual wine bar where the pictures were taken.
Guests in attendance included various guests and workers of the market, a few daring foreigner/expatriates, and of course, the personalities of the wine bar themselves.
With a degree of reflexivity and and participation that would have satisfied Brecht himself, the event culminated with a selection of photos from the show being offered to the subjects of the photos who were in attendance.
